happy trick or treating!

this is honestly just to show to non-canadians what degree of silliness is reached in canada on hallowe'en.

it's not like i ran all over the city to find these stellar examples of hallowe'en decorating. most of them are on my street (even better, my SIDE of the street) on the 10 minute walking stretch between the jean talon stop and my home.

i did think this witch flying in the middle of the sidewalk was the best thing of the kind i've seen this year.

and this porch is shaded by a red-leafed tree that gives it a sinister enough aspect even without much decoration
this is the yard of a big building. must be fun living there.
and this, to their defense, is a kindergarten. but i mean, still.
today it rained horribly all day so i haven't been out much. consequently, i didn't see a lot of costumes, except some red-wigged girls and a quilted guy buying drinks in the supermarket.
if anything, grumpy as i am right now, i'd put on my coat with the fur-lined hoodie, grab my salvation army-bought kitchen knife and be catelyn stark.
everyone, enjoy your hallowe'ening or non-hallowe'ening!
