a sort of thanksgiving, ctd.

i had really really missed posting pictures!
however, i haven't taken very many lately. and, as always, my pics tend to be about the fleeting small wonders of life rather than about documentation. i'm not overly keen to share details about my recent bout of dry cough (though the medicine i bought for it is super-photogenic, if only in its quantity) or my recent visits to BOTH MALLS in cluj (though i do have a black friday story!) or my mum's visit and all her contributions to rearranging my apartment. even if sometimes i want to catch plain things, or sad-ish/morbid things, it's their beauty i'm after.
so i realized that basically every post of mine is a bit of thanksgiving.
do we lie our way through life, by omission, when we stay thankful for what we've got? i would like to think not.
how can i not be aware that some people have MUCH more to be thankful for, and more time to think about it, than others? but still.

so this time i don't even want to comment on these photos.
but, *bonus*, for soundtrack: i've been obsessed with a russian song lately (why are we not surprised?) - last night at 3 a.m. i was writing down the words to it, so i want to share a bit of that. it's a goodbye song, but not the bad way. (lyrics in russian included under the youtube video)

жизнь - не сахар. а смерть нам - не чай. - he says, at one point: " life is not sugar, and death is not tea".

горсть тепла после долгой зимы
донесем. пять минут до утра
доживем. наше море вины
поглощает время-дыра.

"we will carry a handful of heat after a long winter
we will live five minutes til morning
and our sea of faults will be swallowed
by the vortex of time" (my translation)

две мечты\ да печали стакан
мы- воскреснув - допили до дна.

"we, returned from the dead, drank to the bottom
two dreams and a cupful of sadness"

это все - что останется после меня
это все - что возму я с собой.

and the chorus:
" this is all that will be left after me
this is all i'll take with me"
