grandpa´s place

this is grandpa, my mum´s father. he´s 82, has been living on his own for 16 years, has 4 daughters who take turns visiting him on weekends, and 5 grandchildren who...visit him...less......he´s the only person i will take a sermon from on how i should go to church more, get married and start having children - mostly because i´m too busy laughing while he says it. obviously his heart is in the right place.

and this is the old house that used to be his parents´to which he added various other annexes/dependencies over the years.

inside the house: notice the old-style silvery paint, i´ve always loved that.

he insisted i take a picture of his own production of fruit brandy - but wine production is actually way more important in this area. grandpa used to own patches of vineyard, and still has a small one by the house.

( does anyone notice a pattern here?)

the well, adorned with vegetation.
and the rest of the yard. (not pictured: the veggie garden, which is small but looks better than my parents´. of course.)

and the village = my mum´s native village, seen from the top of the garden/vineyard. again, this is not a place i ever spent much time in. i am attached to the house , but everytime i was visiting here i barely got out of the yard.

and mum practising her haircutting skills.

and sour cherries from the garden: just watching them makes my mouth wrinkle.

that is all for now. c.
