i have to make plans

lesson plans. the whole month of may went like this, in the flurry of lesson plan-making. i'm doing practicum at Maison de l'Amitie, which is weird because i've volunteered there so many times before, and been a student of Spanish there. so now i'm teaching and doing Spanish again, just 1 year older; sometimes i'm just going through the motions much more, some other times i freak out like this were my first day on duluth street.and of course other things happen, but i don't pay attention to them much, cause the important thing is to finish school and see what else will follow.

across the street from the school, one of the posh stretches of duluth. near the Soares grocery store (where i get my lunch at least once a week these days) and, of course, the cat cafe.

on offering at Soares.
graffiti in a ruelle nearby
i've walked in those back alleys so many times, i don't even take pictures anymore unless it's new art
like this strange little art gallery on a fence
metro mont-royal, sometime mid-may
this was victoria day (may 18th) in parc la fontaine - discussing lesson plans, of course. with beers.
and professor bijou monteiro, the squirrel cat, demonstrating the lesson at the board
sarah came to my place to help in an emergency -  teach me how to hold tina when i pick her up. nah, kidding, it was still about lesson planning. with cat cuddles mixed in
then i had a strange couple of days of learning more about the parts of the city west of...atwater, practically. this is taken on the lachine canal across from st henri. (it was very windy!) also i had brunch in a very vintage Belle Province in st jacques, next to a feral cat colony, and i learned about La Falaise St Jacques. this city never ceases to surprise me and amaze me.
bad picture of lanterns in trees on parc avenue, the prettiest lit street in montreal at this point. i saw them first sometime end of april, but i have no idea how long they've had them there, as i don't often venture on parc ave. after dark. anyway, they fit the summer mood well.
at CEDA, by lionel groulx, for the anarchist book fair. i have more illustrative pictures, but i don't necessarily feel comfortable posting them, since i was just a passer-by there.
this is what an anarchist brunch hour looks like though.
meanwhile, tina has gotten used to her catbed. she sleeps in it the whole day long, as long as i sit on the sofa next to her. when i get up for a minute, she gets up and leaves. when i come back again, she settles back in. so at night she's very well rested and ready to start playing with bouncy balls and stuff.
was recently wearing this old emily shirt (i think i got it in vancouver '08?) and, of course, it makes perfect sense: a self-proclaimed underachiever needs to have a black cat.
ok, back to non-lesson planning: tina is sleeping on my books. i can't believe tomorrow is june already.
