anim'est - now in cluj

i don't like to write about stuff i haven't experienced yet, but considering i'm going to in about 4 hours, consider this a little anticipation dance. anim'est is THE festival of animation in romania, it mainly happens in bucharest mid-october (this year it was 5-14oct) but is now in cluj for the weekend. i'm going to go every day, mostly to collections of shorts and very shorts, and maybe a couple feature films.
my friend giulia works for the festival, which is why i'm hearing so much about it, starting somewhere....end of august i think. over the years she's been with them she got very attached, and that's honestly one of the greatest recommendations for an entreprise in my books - so i would believe her it's a cool event and would be getting ready to have fun....even without these trailers...

we had a bunch of fun back in early october trying to create PR rhymes for anim'est...generally and for the various categories, based mostly on the above clips.
and here's me posing as an ad for anim'est merchandise last week, when giulia returned from bucharest with goodies for us and recommendations on what to see:

the sheep is everywhere! and the t-shirt says "JOIN THE miracle of animation"

and shuffling through the clips i found this...thing i'd heard nothing about, but i like: sonja van hamel = music+ sort-of-animation, the good way!
