welcome to the inventory of our more memorable walks this month. still being blessed with pretty great weather, at least this past week, and i think we might be at peak point for "the colours". since i've had fewer days off lately (and a couple of very rainy ones), i'm FOMO-ing all over the place as soon as i see a sunny day, and i mostly just want to go to all the parks - b. called me "park fiend'.

three weeks ago - we managed to drag ourselves to the old port. i don't go often - twice a year maybe, so the crowds are always surprising to me. here's the row of small artisan boutiques by the water, with bonus kids climbing some contraptions in the background (i think that's a pirate village or smth similar. and hey, there's also a zipline!) |
food trucks squeezing out as many weekends as they can |
kids' train - moving very slowly along the waterside on special track. we laughed because it was a really tight fit for the driver, but he was in a good mood and using the whistle a lot |
deserted wheel |
thin strip of neighbourhood park |
this is why b. doesn't like going downtown |
chinatown- people doing meditation on mats in the middle of this small square |
moon rising over castle-like towers - it reminds me of an image in one of the fairytale books of my childhood |
gigantic sunflowers growing next to the sidewalk - somewhere upper plateau |
seasonal garden still standing on a corner of laurier w |
october 20, lasalle, early morning - magnificent tree, no color enhancement necessary; and a kid walking to school, talking to herself while i was laughing silently behind her |
somewhere in outremont, just off our normal route (by the cemetery!) for getting to the top of mont-royal; it didn't happen this time because ...mostly because i got out of breath after 5 minutes on a path in the woods, so we took a scenic detour and then just walked away from the mountain. wah, not sure whether i'll make it there this fall (i mean, we could take a bus, but where's the adventure?) |
colours on our back street (foucher) going to jarry |

sampler of colours in parc jarry, oct 21st |

everybody, especially children, is feeding these ducks and seagulls. (why am i disturbed that seagulls are the size of ducks?) i thought it wasn't allowed! they're supposed to feed off the lake, yo! and what are they going to do in winter anyway? also, one kid fell in the water while we were watching (kid to his father: " i fell with just one foot!"- his jean leg was soaked) |

picture of 24 week belly, displaying 1) my new dress from old navy (not even sure this is maternity clothing proper, but with one top and 2 pairs of maternity pants, score is 4 items bought so far; i hope to not need much more); and 2) belting on top of belly, like every respectable pregnant blogger does (have i said this before?) |
