new arrivals

one we were waiting for: grandma came from India to take her precious grandkid off my hands so i can do more...things like writing this post.
or going to the store and back in just 10 minutes, without having to spend half an hour dressing up the hat-hating monster and strapping her to my chest (also, she is getting heavy!)

the first night they met - they took to one another really fast
the small kid appreciates having three persons instead of two always at her beck and call

also she is very good at posing, and squeals with joy when she notices there's a camera in close vicinity. (is this normal? i remember being terrified of photographers. but ok, she's a daughter of the digital age)

the second arrival, a little less wanted, was snow on the ground mid-november. first snow for grandma, and of course we joked that it came in her honour. what can we do, we have to deal with it.
see what i mean: does NOT approve of being stuffed in snowsuit and hat, but will pose for a picture nevertheless. with a bit of reproachful face in the mix.
i was worried whether the snowsuits would fit her etc (of course i got them from other ppl, what do you mean, parents buy clothes for their children?!) but i am happy to report they're excellent - feet covers and gloves included.
grandma posing with new boots, coat and everything winter-related.

tobogganing slope already on (this was two weeks ago...but it's snowed again since). i hear that the city was refusing to start snow-cleaning, but i'm sure i've seen a couple of deneigeuses in action these days.

two days ago, the latest very picturesque snowfall, from the security of our back doorstep.

and the landscape outisde, in the first 5 minutes, before you/i realize it's all melting into puddles because it's not cold enough for the beauty to last.
for updates, these are some new things my baby is doing these days:
sleeping in a nest of blankets, watched over by her grandma and tina, while i...do things (write blogposts? tsk tsk)
walking along the hallway with a chair. she's actually mostly crawling (a lot! she finally got speedy) but, bottom line, she's moving on her own and is super fast. not that i'd expected any different.

playing with all sorts of new objects (apple, banana, bowls, bottles, books, blah). not eating more, mind you. just putting things in her mouth. also she is very good at listening to rhymes and music, when she feels like it. and also!! don't you think she's starting to have a bit of hair? (mostly in the back, sadly...but it's coming, i know it.)
most importantly: we have the beginnings of 2 teeth coming out.

and trying out new funny clothes. that's it, guys. i am so tired of how many pictures of this baby i am taking and everybody is taking. i think we're really spoiling her.
names for baby: tutturu, kichiroo, bibi, bibimbap, rada-bada ('badam' in tamil is an almond :). she also sometimes responds to 'kendall jenner'
