here's some colors for you

hey, quick, let's slip one in before october ends! LOL i have been just working too much (for too little) and generally confused about mid- and long-term plans, though not in a bad way; though, what's new? as long as i still get up every morning, i consider it a marked improvement compared to last year.

and...we're at it again. down to counting down to daylight saving time, then noticing the light go dimmer around 4 pm, then tuning in to winter wardrobe, coats, bigger coats, boots, the furry boots, the woollen gloves, the woollen scarves, every possible hat and hoodie, then snow, then the holidays, then the long long trek toward, who knows what. toward heat.

this time last year i was the same person, in a different life maybe, but it was still me sitting down in the same kitchen on the same chair, wearing the same robe over 3 layers of clothes and drinking hot water from the same mug. just mind-boggling.

but in the meantime, something a bit spectacular, just to liven up the gloom
finally my porch. this is almost a month ago, first days of october. and last t-shirt day, if i remember correctly.
lazy morning home.cat-sitting. (the cat ran down into the yard/neighbour's garden about 3 times that day)

colors are just beginning to creep in here. those happy times, when seeing a bunch of yellow leaves was new and fun
never a fall in canada without pictures of maple leaves for my dad, who loves obvious symbols.

the day before thanksgiving, so still beginning of october. kitchen window/porch

all streets in my neighbourhood looked like this: cozy, almost shocking, but never quite there. i've seen other streets, and pictures of streets in montreal those days, and i don't know how they do it. (wait, i do: vivid colors!!)

these days we make cat friends everywhere. this is just one of the multiple cats in villeray photographed on stairs as we passed by. i have at least a couple other candidates (including with name tags and all), but this is the fluffiest. we thought of bringing her home to make tina jealous

am i the only one who looks at these creeping vines and sees a dog attacking a man? :( ok then.
(but  seriously, look better! where is your imagination?)
park jarry on a long weekend outing. i like canadian holidays, because everybody just goes back to where they're from, and that leaves the city to us.
kite in a tree

and an impromptu photo-shoot; i was wearing a trench i got for free/ as a gift, that i don't get to wear that often, due to the crazy lack of definite seasons lately; also, gift leaf-earrings, though less visible; i'm glad i got to show them off at least once this fall

marketplace for apple season

and the traditional picture with the giant pumpkin - obviously, apart from me, only kids were posing

best market picture, because of the fortunate color mix - but also because i've eaten a bunch of stuff with chili lately

story on garage door in back alley

this is from what i hope is becoming a tradition: "the" october walk in mont-royal cemetery and surroundings. it was very different from last year. we couldn't even find the alleys and crosses we'd discovered back then. but it started about the same way: a leisurely stroll by big houses, talking about hills, religions, "life of pi" and lots of meta.
straight from the mt-royal cemetery. this is what we came for.
and from beaver lake, where hundreds of people took pictures of the same 3 yellow trees all through thanksgiving day
as you can see
vivid colors
"but that REALLY IS what it looked like!"
well alright then
how i missed the chance to climb up to the oratory for the 2nd time in my life:
-it was too windy, i was lazy, and:
- picture looked better from below
alright then.

sunset from kitchen window.
(if i see the sunset, it must be a monday. FML)
i hope i'll brace up for winter by doing more posts, cause the gods know i do have enough pictures.
only slightly related, two days ago there was some rain here with snow in it. just saying.
