more small things to like

this is just another mixed bag post, because somehow being on my own all day, either walking or on facebook in my kitchen, is not really conducive to developing themes. (unless it's a GoT theme; which i'm trying hard to spare people.) but, yeah. more adorable things that started off as 'pictures taken for friends' mostly - half bragging about montreal, half inviting you guys to come see for yourselves.
this is for doorknob enthusiasts:) - of course.
aaand, for my alexandras, mostly. but really, think of people who live here and have to give their address as "alexandra, cross with alexandra". yay.
melanie took me to the concordia greenhouse! it's on the top floor (12th) of the concordia building downtown, and beside the greenhouse aspect (and fish! the poor fishies!) it also functions as a study/chillout space of sorts. this picture is mostly about my frustration at not finding a decent cheap chalkboard anywhere - cause what proper kitchen/lounge space lacks a chalkboard?
more greenhouse porn - this bench, or whatever it might be, is such an obvious tribute to parc guell...or is it just me?
admiring the atmosphere and the ripe papaya fruit. we actually went to touch the papaya! it was getting pretty soft.
this church is right in front of the jean talon metro, and yes, it's orthodox. i don't know how i know them, not being an expert in church architecture, but, just...the look of it is familiar?! i feel weird whenever i catch myself caring about anything to do with formal religion or its presence in my living space, but it does make a difference to know this is here. i remember seeing it first in 2010 and thinking from across the street that it might be the romanian church i knew existed around jean-talon....but no, that one's further away east, bigger and uglier. this one's an antiochian orthodox church.
the first thing of the kind i see here...though i have to look around and see if it's caught on: people just bragging about their cats  on street posts, to anyone who cares to pay attention.
and, on a related note, sort of: people sharing their memories of the city. i think it's an amazing idea in itself, but it looks a bit forced/municipality-driven...i dunno, i'm trying to reserve judgment for now. i've seen a bunch of these around (easy to spot especially walking in mile end) and this one looked the most non-official. i would love it if people REALLY DID THIS, i mean i have a couple of these to post!
perhaps my new favourite wall of the city: on villeray and...drolet? around there. a bit west from me, but not that far. i love windows of any sort, including fake ones, with an outside/inside view. as for the stamp under it....my new motto!
